Mac OS X 10.4.1: Safari 2.0: Downloads window re-sizing bug
We've confirmed in-house an issue where Safari 2.0, included with Mac OS X 10.4.x, improperly displays estimated remaining download time for currently downloading files when the Downloads window is being re-sized.
As the user stretches the Downloads direction left and right, the estimated remaining download time incorrectly goes up or down, not reflecting the actual download speed.
MacFixIt reader Ubence Quevedo is one of the users to note this issue:
"I was downloading a file in Safari, and decided to resize the download window size. When I resized the window, the download speed and completion time changed. The download speed steadily decreased, and the completion time reflected this change [the completion time got longer]. However when I stopped resizing the window, the correct download speed and completion time were displayed again."
