Mac OS 9 bug causes StatView to crash; possibly corrupts System file; Apple's Mac OS 9 update will fix this; due within 4 weeks
A recently posted StatView web page states:
Due to a bug in an Apple-supported library routine, IntlTokenize, StatView 5.0 and 5.0.1 will crash under Mac OS 9. If you attempt to run StatView with Mac OS 9, you may experience System file corruption and/or system crashes.
This same bug may also exist in Mac OS 8.6. Thus, SAS recommends using Mac OS 8.5 or earlier to run StatView.
SAS expects that the forthcoming Mac OS 9 update will fix this and was told by Apple to expects its release "in the next four weeks." (Thanks, Dana Leighton.)
