Mac OS 8 Color Picker and Microsoft Office conflict

Andre Dube writes that when he tried to modify colors in any Microsoft Office 4.2.1 application (especially Excel), he would get an unexpected quit. If he reverted to the Color Picker extension from Mac OS 7.6.1, rather than the new one included in Mac OS 8, the problem went away. He confirmed this using several different computer configurations.
