Mac OS 8.5.1 Chooser Updater: Trojan Horse

Several readers (including George Fowler and Mark Guertin) are reporting that a file called Mac OS 8.5.1 Chooser Updater (found on Hotline servers) is actually a Trojan Horse. It installs or replaces numerous files in your System Folder (including OpenTpt Serial Access, JavaOEMCLib and General Controls Prefs). Avariety of odd symptoms then follow.
