After comedian Stephen Colbert at last year's annual White House Press Correspondents' Dinner, many of us thought that the comedy factor at White House banquets would probably be turned down a notch or two. Thankfully for those of us who like a regular dose of political wackiness, that didn't happen.

The highlight of this week's Radio-Television Correspondents' Association Dinner was none other than the high-profile Bush strategist . In a performance by Whose Line Is It Anyway? comedians Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie, Rove was pulled onstage, rechristened "MC Rove," and participated in a rap song complete with backup dancers.

As comedian Sherwood said, Rove "likes to rip off the heads of small animals, he collects stamps, and he likes to hunt quails." Sounds like a bona fide rapper to me! Really, K-Fed could learn a thing or two from MC Rove.

You can catch the YouTube video here. But it's from C-SPAN, so who knows how long it'll last before it gets pulled due to potential copyright issues.

Needless to say, it's started to gain some viral momentum around the . Sounds like people kind of love to hate it.

Blog community response:

"Why do we take this man seriously, again? Karl 'MC' Rove tries his hand at being the hype man for an attempted rap at the White House Correspondents dinner. Results... about what you can expect. It's not funny, it's sad. This man probably had no friends in high school."

"If you've ever wondered what it would be like to watch White House Deputy Chief Of Staff Karl Rove flail around a stage while a badly executed rap song plays in the background, now's your chance...Wait until the 1:40 mark, and look for Rove's debut album, Die B.O.L.D., out on Koch in May."

"This may be the scariest thing I've ever seen."
