Life-size Vadermobile set to cruise Comic-Con
Mattel is celebrating a "Star Wars" line of toys by showing off a fully functional, life-size Vadermobile at Comic-Con. Ride at your own risk.
Darth Vader from "Star Wars" is taking time out of his busy schedule of Force-choking those who disobey to attend Comic-Con International in San Diego this week. Or, a vehicular representation of him will be there, anyway.
Mattel is set to release its new line of "Star Wars" themed toys at the show. On Wednesday, the toy company will celebrate the release by showing off a life-size, fully functional Vadermobile. The Vadermobile was built atop a C5 Corvette and prominently features red lightsaber trim on the sides of the car and the wheels. The entire car looks like Vader's iconic mask, and it can reach a top speed of 80 miles per hour.
Attendees will be able to get their hands on the Vadermobile at the show, or more accurately a miniature Hot Wheels version of it that comes in a pretty awesome red lightsaber case. The collectable will run about $40. You can find both it and the life-size version of the car at the Mattel booth. It will go on sale to the general public sometime after the show.
