LG 'Viewty 2' GC900 seen: 8-megapixels, is a phone

LG's Viewty 2 has apparently been eyeballed by a blog, and while photos are impersonating Amelia Earhart quite well, the specifications are not

LG's been showing off its still-in-the-works 8-megapixel follow-up to the popular Viewty phone -- the GC900 Viewty 2 -- according to the we-can't-photograph-the-phone-so-here's-a-photo-of-a-spec-sheet phone blog, NewMobile.com.

Features of the phone include an 8-megapixel camera with a xenon flash, a 76mm (3-inch) touchscreen display, up to 32GB of storage, support for Xvid and Divx video, 7.2Mbps HSDPA data connectivity and GPS.

There are no release dates and no photos. This will be a release for quite a bit later in the year, we expect, and since it wasn't at Mobile World Congress -- the biggest place in the world to show off upcoming handsets for the year -- we can only assume it's not going to hit shelves even remotely soon.

Anyway, we say "pfft" to it -- Sony Ericsson's doing 12-megapixel phones, Samsung's supporting high-definition video on its phones and Motorola's making one out of diamonds. Come on LG, where are your diamond-encrusted, HD-loving 12-megapixel mobiles? Korea!? That's no good to us, Sonny Jim.
