LG shows off large-screen TV technology

LG Electronics demonstrated on Friday a prototype of a 52-inch television that boasts images better than those on movie theater screens. The television, which is on display at an electronics trade show in Korea, measures 15 inches from front to back and uses Texas Instrument's single-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology. TI's DLP technology is already used by more than 30 top projector manufacturers. LG did not indicate a price for the television but said it wants to differentiate its product from others by making it more affordable.
