Look out, Samsung. LG is set to deliver its own self-contained cellular smartwatch, according to recent reports.

A device known as the LG VC100 has been spotted loitering the halls of the FCC, providing what looks to be the first glimpse of its first 3G-connected smartwatch. Listed as a "Smart Watch with CDMA", it isn't clear whether this would be another member of the G Watch family or the beginning of a new line entirely.

Based on the rudimentary image, we might expect something with a rectangular display. The accompanying dimensions tell us it should be a smidge smaller than its Samsung counterpart, the Gear S .

As to which cellular provider(s) are in line to offer the rumored LG watch, Verizon seems like to be the most likely candidate. According to a source close to mylgphones.com, the watch has been found listed in a database with other Verizon devices. Allegedly, the 3G-capable smartwatch could debut as soon as the fourth quarter of this year.

it's safe to assume that LG will stick with Android Wear to run this 3G-connected phone. I don't know about you, but I like the idea of an all-in-one watch that lets me leave my phone in my pocket when someone calls, or even at home.
