LG Optimus 3D teaser video has hot smart phone, not-so-hot grammar

Having confirmed the LG Optimus 3D Android smart phone earlier this week, LG is showing off the handset in a new teaser video, in advance of its Mobile World Congress debut.

LG's Optimus 3D has made its video debut, and for once, we're not talking grain-o-vision footage from some random bloke in a pub in Taiwan. LG's official teaser video for Mobile World Congress shows its new glasses-free 3D phone spinning and glinting (although not actually working).

The video has plenty of comedy value too, with a narrator giving it the full DEEP-VOICED Hollywood trailer voiceover treatment, declaiming pretend headlines about LG's smart phone resurgence.

And as for the slogan 'Something Bigger is Coming On Your Way'... well, let's just say someone at LG HQ needs to stop watching All Your Base Are Belong To Us and brush up on their syntax.

The Optimus 3D is the 'something bigger', with the video hailing it as 'The World's First Dual Core-Multi Channel'. They forgot 'Phone' on the end of that sentence, presumably. The handset isn't shown working, and there are no other specs on offer.

What we know from LG's announcement earlier this week is that the Optimus 3D will have a dual-lens 3D-capable camera, a glasses-free 3D display, and a choice of HDMI and DLNA connectivity to watch 3D movies and other stuff on your computer and TV. The smart phone will be formally unveiled during Mobile World Congress, and demonstrated on LG's stand at the show.

Here's the video, which is well on its way to becoming the so-bad-it's-good Showgirls of the mobile handset promotional video world. Albeit with less nudity and more believable dialogue and characters.
