LG G2 Mini specs leak: low-res display, 1.2GHz chip
The specs have leaked of LG's upcoming shrunken mobile, but the bad news is they don't look all that great.
Specs of what is believed to be the LG G2 Mini have leaked online, but if they're the real deal, it looks like this small phone will be a big disappointment.
Phone Arena reports that a handset with the model number LG D410 -- believed to be the rumoured G2 Mini -- has had its benchmarks leaked at GFXBench. A lot of flagship Android smarties have mini versions nowadays, so why not the G2?
If these specs are genuine -- and remember, we're in pinch of salt territory here -- we're looking at a screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels. That's pretty low, so don't expect movies and photos to look too sharp on it.
On the plus side, it will come with Android 4.4 KitKat, which will give you access to some cool features, like Google Hangouts replacing the Messaging function.
Under the bonnet, the G2 Mini will have a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Again, that's pretty underwhelming.
Compare these specs to the full-size LG G2, and the Mini looks pretty shocking. The G2 has a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels. It's a bit of a powerhouse too, packing a 2.26GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip. It also has buttons on the back. There's no word on whether the G2 Mini will have its buttons in the normal place.
In terms of mini mobiles, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was a bit underpowered as well. It made me think maybe Samsung was trying to cash in on the S4 name by pairing it with some sub-par specs.
