LG G Pad 8.3-inch tablet is teased in official video

LG has a new slate on its way called the G Pad 8.3, a teaser video on its official YouTube account has confirmed. It doesn't give any official specs away, nor does it show the tablet, but it does boast that its 8.3-inch size is "just right for you".

Rather than focus on useful information about the tablet, the teaser video (shown below) asks a bunch of people in the street what they want in a tablet, naturally receiving a whole mess of different answers about screen size versus portability. What that boils down to, LG reckons, is that an 8.3-inch slate is small enough to slide into your pocket, while remaining big enough to enjoy films on.

It probably is a fair compromise, although I reckon you'll need big pockets to get an 8-inch slate in there. Other items on the wish list include a thin body -- though without seeing the finished product, there's no way of knowing if LG has managed this. A Full HD screen is also mentioned, with those same words appearing onscreen. Such an emphasis on that point might suggest that a 1,080p display will be on board -- something that previous rumours have pointed towards.

Other leaks about the tablet suggest it might pack a quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. Those are decent specs although pretty much what you should expect for a higher-end device. If LG really wants to make the G Pad stand out, it's going to need a luscious design, the latest version of Android and none of the annoying bloatware.
