Lego Hobbit covered PS4 is totally Rad(agast)
Why have a plain black console sitting in your living room when you could cover it with 2,500 Lego bricks and recreate The Hobbit?
While Warner Bros. sets about spruiking its latest video game, Lego The Hobbit, the company has commissioned one Lego fan to refurbish a PS4 with an elaborate Lego recreation of the game.
Built by Ryan McNaught, who holds the illustrious title of "the only LEGO certified professional builder in the Southern Hemisphere", the PlayStation 4 cover features scenes from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as well as from the Lego The Hobbit Videogame.
Made with over 2,500 Lego bricks, Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit Hole lifts up to uncover the PS4's disc drive, power and eject buttons, while the top plays host to Gundabad Orcs and the forest of Mirkwood. We were also particularly happy with the Dwarves of Erebor using a rotisserie for a cook-up.
While you can't buy the Lego-covered console, the game itself was released yesterday for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (RRP AU$89.95), PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U (RRP AU$79.95), and Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC (RRP AU$49.95).
