Leaked document shows at least four new Android phones from Verizon

Four Android smart phones due from Verizon AndroidCentral.com

The next few months should bring us a few more Android phone announcements coming from Verizon. According to information obtained by Android Central, the nation's largest carrier has at least four new devices expected in the fourth quarter. Look for pair of Motorola models, and offerings from HTC and LG.

The first Motorola phone, the Droid Pro , was announced earlier this month at CTIA. Bearing a very BlackBerry-esque form factor with enhanced enterprise security features, the Android 2.2 smartphone offers a 3.1-inch HVGA touch screen with a QWERTY keyboard below. Other details include a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and the usual support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Rumors of a Droid 2 Global phone have been swirling for a few months now, but neither Motorola nor Verizon have made any official announcements. Motorola's Web site last week accidentally listed a few specifications, including a 1.2GHz processor, a sliding QWERTY, and 5-megapixel camera. Unfortunately, the handset maker quickly realized the error and pulled the information.

The HTC Merge whispers started as far as back as August when we first caught wind of an unknown sliding QWERTY. Android Central has spent extensive time playing with the device and is "over the moon" with it. The blog even says it is among the best HTC has yet to offer up. The Merge, which has previously been tagged with a code name of Lexikon , is said to feature an 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory. Rounding out the phone are Android 2.2, a 3.8-inch display, and a 5-megapixel camera.

Very little is known of LG's enV Pro at this point, but I will wager a couple of guesses as to what we should expect. Engadget reported back in August that a follow-up to the enV Touch would have Android and feature dual touchs creens with one on the outside and the other on the inside. At the time, Engadget called the phone an enV Touch 2, but enV Pro has a more distinct ring to it. Given how often codenames change, I'd be surprised if these were not the same phone. LG's other recent handsets have featured 1GHz processors.
