LaCie drive buffer size error?; MacLink and Claris files

LaCie drive buffer/cache size? Steve Evans notes that the LaCie FireWire 12/4/32 CD-RW drive is supposed to come with "4MB buffer for faster transfer rates." However, Toast 4.1.1's Recorder Info window lists a cache size of just 2MB. Unless, buffer and cache mean different things here, this means that either LaCie or Toast is incorrect. MacLink and Claris translator files: a follow-up MacLinkPlus 12.001 still deletes Claris translators, according to several readers. A previous report had suggested otherwise.
