Kozmo it's not, but we'll take it

Whenever the late-night munchies strike, we long for the days when a fat-saturated snack was only a click or two away from Kozmo.com. That kind of convenience service has yet to make a comeback, but a new site is at least taking a step in that direction.

GopherNow, a site based on the rather amophous principle of "design thinking," is compiling a real-time database that allows hungry consumers to search for restaurants that are open or delivering food at any given time. It also lets anyone add restaurants to the list, though it's unclear if any mechanism is in place to verify the hours and services of those entries, other than a wiki-like ability to edit information.

The database is still in its infancy--the only place listed as delivering in our city Saturday night was Domino's--but we're holding out hope.
