Keynote 2.0.1: Distorted MPEG video content; Printing issues

CNET staff

Distorted MPEG video content A number of MacFixIt readers report an issue with distorted MPEG video playback in Keynote 2.0.1, generally in the form of bars along the sides of the playback window.

Greg Pinelo writes:

"Embedded MPEG 1 and 2 video does not play properly in slideshow. If you resize the video, large green bars appear on the side or bottom during playback. Very annoying to have to use PowerPoint for anything that includes video. "

MacFixIt reader Rob adds:

"I have had problems with Keynote 2, it doesn't play .mpg (extension) consistently, some play well and others have a big green border around them, it used to be no problem on Keynote 1."

If you are experiencing a similar problem, please let us know.

Printing issues We've received sporadic reports of printing issues under Keynote 2.0.1 -- particularly when using the multiple-slides-per-page option.

MacFixIt reader Heath Jolliff writes:

"After updating to Keynote 2.0.1, when I print handouts, I choose the option to only print black and white slides for the handout (4-6 on a page). This allows you to not print dark backgrounds so that you save ink and it is easier for the reader to view. However, Keynote print 90% of the slides as black and white but a random 10% of the slides still print in their original dark format. I did not have this problem prior to 2.0.1."
