Above you'll find the first trailer to "Assassin's Creed", an upcoming film based on the popular action game franchise.

The movie, slated for a December 21 release, stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. But, strangely, the spotlight is stolen by rapper Kanye West, whose "I Am a God" blares in the background throughout the clip.

20th Century Fox, its distributor, hopes to top 2010's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", which with $336.4 million made at the box office is the highest grossing video game adaptation ever. Lara Croft will soon also return to the silver screen, with Alicia Vikander recently being cast as the leading lady for the upcoming "Tomb Raider" reboot.

The Asssassin's Creed video games follow Desmond Miles, a descendent of a line of assassins, who is forced by a powerful corporation to use the "Animus", a device that lets them explore the experiences of his assassin ancestors.
