Real cars star in any number of racing games, but now the Jeep Wrangler becomes the ride of choice for the virtual soldiers in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Mark Lamia, studio head of Call of Duty developer Treyarch said, "Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own."

In conjunction with the November 9 game release, Jeep will offer a Black Ops edition Wrangler. Based on the Rubicon trimmed Wrangler, the Black Ops edition comes standard with 32-inch tires, a Black Ops graphic on the front fender, and a U.S. Army star on the rear fender. And, of course, the Black Ops edition is painted black.

The Rubicon is the most capable of the Jeep Wranglers. It features locking differentials and a two-speed transfer case, along with sway bars that can be disengaged at the touch of a button for maximum articulation. Having driven the Wrangler Rubicon over various obstacle courses, we can attest to its real off-road capability.
