Artificial-intelligence takeover imminent, Colbert says

Fresh off news that a computer program passed the Turing Test, Stephen Colbert argues that the end of humanity might already be here.

Though it might no longer be the gold standard of artificial intelligence, a team from Russia built a program that successfully convinced 33 percent of people that they were having a conversation with a 13-year-old boy from the Ukraine instead of a computer program. Naturally, the fact that artificial intelligence is becoming smarter raises questions about whether we're nearing the time when AI takes over humanity.

On Tuesday's episode of "The Colbert Report," Stephen Colbert showed us that not only might an AI takeover be imminent, it might already be here. After watching his segment titled "The Enemy Within - Bina the Activist Android" about a super minority robot who demands equal rights for machines, Colbert might just be onto something. Check out his video above and judge for yourself.
