Is Iran making real progress toward a full-fledged space program?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad celebrated Iran's technological progress in a test launch of a rocket meant to send the country's first domestically made satellite into orbit. Monday's launch has set tongues a-wagging: Does it mark a substantial technological advance, or is it an empty gesture to bolster flagging morale?
