Apple added splashes of color to its iPod Shuffle lineup Tuesday, offering the tiny music player in four bright hues, as well as the original silver.

The . And while Apple touts the trendiness of the new colors, they can play a practical role for those who have trouble locating when glancing about a room.

Apple's application of color to the 1GB player comes three months after the debut of the device , which initially was offered in only silver. The , but iPod fans had to wait until November 3 for the formal launch.
