A prelude to Apple's record quarterly earnings reports this week, The New York Times' David Pogue posted an iPod spoof video that has been the source of laughter all around the blogosphere.

iPod Flea

Pogue's weekly video post on June 29 was an ad spoof for the "iPod Flea," which Photoshop maven Scott Kelby showed during the keynote for his Mac Design conference. Bearing a striking resemblance to a Tic Tac mint, the iPod Flea manages to poke fun at Apple's shrinking music players and the accessory industry that has followed suit.

The almost 3-minute video has been picked up by bloggers all around the Web who have mostly offered rave reviews.

Blog community response:

"It was shockingly funny and left me thinking, 'Gosh, this guy is right on about all these accessories for these little devices.' There are whole sites dedicated to this. Just check out the iPodlounge sometime."

"It was perfect! Laugh? Oh did I laugh...and yes, I'm a loyal Mac user.
--The Unofficial Apple Web Log

"I just want to know how they get the time and energy for such a project since they already seem to do more than is humanly possible. This commercial reminds me 100 percent of the kind of thing they use to open their PhotoshopWorld conferences."
