RAW support improved ... or not UPDATE: It appears that RAW support for the Nikon D300 has not been added after all.

iPhoto 7.1.2 improves compatibility with the RAW files generated by some cameras, but still lacks support for some important types. MacFixIt reader Robert Downey reports that support for RAW images from his Nikon D300 has been added:

"I purchased a Nikon D300 camera as soon as they were released, and much to my dismay, neither Aperture or iPhoto would recognize the RAW image files generated by the camera.

"After the 7.1.2 update yesterday, I was pleased to notice that iPhoto now recognizes the photos and displays them in all their high-resolution glory. They even will transfer to my Apple TV and look fantastic on my widescreen TV. Now, if only the Aperture update would be released soon."

iPhoto 7.1.2 still cannot import files in the .CR2 format used by a number of Canon cameras, however.

Movie date issue not fixed Meanwhile users report that iPhoto 7.1.2 does not fix an issue where imported movies display the wrong date. The workaround for this issue is to copy the movies onto a drive via the Finder (directly from media) then import them into iPhoto.
