Sent-to-mail images do not retain orientation MacFixIt reader Adam reports that picture orientations are not preserved when an image is sent directly from iPhoto 6.0 to Mail.app.

Adam writes:

"If you rotate an image and then send it to Mail from the iPhoto sharing options, the embedded image no longer maintains the new orientation. It will show up in Mail the exact way it was imported from the camera."

Import duplicates feature change iPhoto 6.0 no longer asks if you want to import duplicate images.

One reader writes:

"In past versions if you did an import from your camera, did not delete the images after import, and then shot more images; the next time you imported, iPhoto would ask if you wanted to import the duplicates. Now iPhoto does not ask and simply import all images from the camera including duplicates. This means you now need to cleanup duplicates by hand in iPhoto."

Crashes on emptying trash Mark Smith reports crashes from iPhoto 6.0 when attempting to empty the trash:

"iPhoto 6 is crashing when attempting to empty its trash. The thumbnails in the trash are doted outlines only, no images. Rebuilding the database doesn't work and the crash happens before the trash is emptied."

Only first song included in slideshow MacFixIt reader Ben Rosenthal reports that only the first song in a designated playlist makes it through to the exported iPhoto slideshow.

Ben writes:

"When I export a slideshow in iPhoto 6 (as a movie), iPhoto only includes the first song of my playlist (there are five all together). It also doesn't hold onto my specified slowing of certain transitions, instead making them happen at their 'normal' speed."
