iPhoto 6.0.3 (#2): Crashes after double-clicking thumbnails; Missing photos: Try rebuilding library; more

CNET staff

Crashes after double-clicking thumbnails Some users have reported crashes when attempting to double-click on thumbnails since applying the iPhoto 6.0.3 update. For some users, the issue only occurs when double-clicking specific photos.

The fix, in some cases, is to clear caches with a utility like Cocktail and repair permissions, either using Cocktail or Disk Utility (located in Applications/Utilities).

If you are experiencing a similar issue, please let us know.

Missing photos: Try rebuilding library If you are missing photos in your iPhoto library after the update to version 6.0.3, try rebuilding the library by quitting iPhoto, then re-launching it while holding down the command and option keys.

Problems with batch image rotation Some MacFixIt readers are reporting issues with the batch rotation function in iPhoto 6.0.3.

One reader writes:

"When I import from my Canon 20D into iPhoto and try to batch rotate the files (portraits) 90 degrees CCW, they will not export to a folder on the desktop. When I force iPhoto to quit and reopen it the images are squashed looking in the iPhoto thumbnail display. Very strange."
