iPhoto 6.0.2 (#4): Another fix for an issue where photos do not display (blank screen) in Edit and other viewing modes
We continue coverage of an issue where photos in iPhoto 6.0.2 (and earlier versions) display only as a blank (black) screen when viewed in edit mode or in a slideshow.
Yesterday we detailed a workaround that involves deleting every afflicted roll, every album based on said rolls, and every slideshow based on the same rolls -- obviously not a viable option for users who do not have a backup copy of their photo library.
Another fix: Opening the containing folder It now appears that in some cases, opening the parent folder of a non-displaying photo allows it to properly appear in iPhoto.
MacFixIt reader Lorin Rivers writes:
"I discovered that if I opened the folder containing the missing image, they would magically appear in iPhoto.
"In my case, it was hit or miss which ones were missing--no rhyme or reason. Typically, there'd be at least one that worked so I could use 'show picture' to open the folder."
