iPhone may be coming to the UK next week

Macworld UKreports that Apple plans a special event at 10am on Tuesday, September 18th at the Regents Street Apple Store. With the tagline "Mum is no longer the word," speculation holds that the company will introduce a UK edition of the iPhone at the event.

As previously reported, during an earnings conference call in July, Apple revealed that it plans to bring the iPhone to a 'few major countries in Europe' during the current quarter, other European countries in early 2008, and into Asia sometime in 2008.

Amazon UK already lists the 8GB iPhone.
