IomegaWare: installer deletes existing Iomega utilities; NAV 7 conflict; System slowdown?

We have three items following up on last week's release of the new IomegaWare 3.0.4 installer:

Deletes< various utilities According to one reader, the 3.0.4 installer deletes many of the old Iomega utilities and does not replace them with newer versions. Daniel Milligan writes:

"The installer recommends that you let it move old utilities to the trash, but if you do, then Copy Machine, FindIt, RecordIt and QuikSync are all removed but not replaced."

NAV 7 conflict Paul MacLeod writes: "DOS formatting is back. It was not available in the previous release version of IomegaWare. However, I found that if you try and format a DOS disk from the Tools application while running NAV 7.0.2, the Mac hangs sometimes. Normally when you hit the erase button in the Tools app it quickly unmounts and remounts the disk before bringing up the format window. If NAV is set to scan removable media it does a scan before the remount. 2 or 3 times out of 10 it brings up the format window but you can't select anything. A force quit clears the problem."

System slowdown? Another reader writes: "After installing the IomegaWare 3.0.4 update last Friday, I noticed that after about 15 minutes of using my computer, my typing lagged heavily before appearing on the screen. I suspected that this 15 minute interval was related to my Zip drive's sleep time, so I inserted a Zip disk, and sure enough, my typing sped back up (but was still not at normal speeds). Downgrading to IomegaWare 2.7.2 (available from Iomega's FTP site) has fixed the problem. I'm using an internal ATAPI Zip drive with a Sawtooth G4 350, a 2x AGP model."
