IomegaWare: Blank rectangle, insert Zip, and partition errors

Blank rectangle Last time, we mentioned a possible conflict between IomegaWare and Speed Doubler. Some follow-up comments suggest that the problem may extend beyond Speed Doubler. For example:
"I encountered the same blank rectangle, however I do not use Speed Doubler. The problem seems to occur more when Virtual Memory is turned off. It occurs using both MacOS 8.1 and 8.5f4. Reverting to the previous version of the Iomega Driver eliminated the problem entirely." (name withheld)

"I got the same IomegaWare problem of a black screen with a big white cursor, and didn't have Speed Doubler loaded. Your site's note that the FAT version doesn't do this leads me to think that Iomega's PPC-only version is the cause. (David Burnham)

Insert Zip error A few readers have reported a situation where the software asks for the currently mounted Zip disk to be inserted. It typically happens when launching a file on your hard drive that accesses a file on the Zip cartridge - or vice versa. (Thanks, Scott Smith and Jody Hewell.)

Partitions John Cooper could not get IomegaWare to mount more than one partition on his partitioned Jaz cartridge. The previous Iomega driver (6.01) did not have this problem.
