Iomega HFS Calculator Trojan Horse?

Paul Hunt writes: "I downloaded the file 'Iomega HFS Calculator,' ran it, and it deleted all of the files from my hard disk. It showed a progress bar and reported the number of files being deleted. It ran so fast that I could not find a way to interrupt it. After it automatically restarted, I only had a blinking floppy disk icon. Lucky for me, a Norton Utilities startup disk with Disk Doctor was able to fix the problem. The Trojan Horse program had a well designed icon and Get Info reported that it was version 1.0.1 created on February 17, 1998 by Iomega Corporation. Of course, Iomega Corporation did not write it."

Update: A reader replies: "I have seen this file on some Hotline servers. Actually, it is a pretty old program that figures out the number of files on your HD. Then makes you think that it is erasing them and then makes you think you restarted by making the noise and then flashing a question mark. In reality, if you double click on the floppy disk icon, the program will quit and all will be fine."
