Iomega Guest erases disk

CNET staff
Ryan Vesler reports: "I had a Jaz drive connected to a G3 Mac with a cartridge inserted. To do some troubleshooting, I booted off of the system CD-ROM disc, expecting the Jaz disk to mount so I could copy over a backup I had made. The disk did not mount so I launched the Iomega Guest driver on the CD (6.0, I believe). It went through its normal process and eventually I got a message saying that the driver was loaded. The message included two options Unload or Continue. I hit Continue and, in a matter of seconds, the disk was quickly initialized!" A new Directory was created and the disk was listed as empty, just as if an Erase Disk command had been selected.
