Intel recalls every Basis Peak fitness watch worldwide

An overheating issue could cause blisters and burns. The recall is not voluntary, and customers are urged to return their watches for full refunds.

An overheating issue with the Basis Peak led the company to recall every single one sold around the world. Basis, an Intel subsidiary, could not find a software solution to stop the overheating. The company is also discontinuing support for the Basis Peak because it does not want people using the watch out of safety concerns.
