InDesign 2.0.2 update pulled due to permissions bug

UPDATE: The Adobe InDesign 2.0.2 update has been pulled without explanation from Adobe, after MacFixIt received numerous bug reports on the update, detailing a permissions error when applying the update. Meanwhile, Steven Jefferson offers a potential workaround:

"My initial install ran into the permissions problem. Then I remembered the previous problems had installing Adobe updates. To have a trouble-free update, modify the ownership (owner menu) of the volume you are installing the update on to yourself using get info/ownership and permissions. Install the update. Reset ownership back to "system" immediately afterwards."

The latest version of Adobe's InDesign, 2.0.2, includes resolutions for two bugs previously reported to MacFixIt.

  • InDesign no longer quits while launching on Mac OS X if AutoProtect is enabled in Norton AntiVirus software.
  • On Mac OS X v.10.2.x, Undo and Quit options function correctly after the user drags a file from the Finder or another application over an InDesign document window.
