Following the success of its broad line of smartphone cases, Incase has decided to move into the digital audio space with a line of headphones developed with an approach the company calls Incase Soundesign.

Incase leaps out of the gate with four headphone models that cover a range of fit designs: the Sonic Over Ear, the Reflex On Ear, the Pivot On Ear, and the Capsule In Ear. The press release promises that each model is aurally engineered to produce a "natural, balanced response," although it makes no mention of impedance, isolation, or driver specifications.

What we do know is that Incase put plenty of thought into the physical comfort of these headphones, taking into consideration the number of people using smartphones with an integrated in-line remote control and microphone. Headphones design trends these days skew toward a one-piece, matte finish, and Incase's headphones combine soft-touch black matte and glossy materials for a "subtle visual appeal."

Being that the majority of Incase accessories are sold at Apple Stores, expect to see the right plugs on them to play nicely with cases for Apple products. Incase Audio will unleash its headphones this fall for an as-yet undisclosed price.
