In Manhattan, pining for the PS3

Hard-core fans lined up in the rain to get their hands on a console.

Lining up 80 hours in advance--in the rain, to boot--was a hard-core batch of PS3 fanatics who wanted to make sure absolutely no one beat them to the punch. Problem is, the powers that be at the Circuit City in Manhattan's Union Square put a collective foot down and insisted that no one line up until 24 hours prior to the launch--the tent-and couch-filled line, they said, was a major disruption in the bustling downtown commercial and residential district.

Thankfully, the fans in line were given numbered tickets that would reserve their spots when they returned.
