iMac Core Duo (Early 2006) (#5): Problems with flash devices; more
Problems with flash devices MacFixIt reader Mike Gould reports issues with some flash memory devices when connected to his iMac Core Duo.
Mike writes:
"I just set up an Intel 17" iMac for a user. The only problems so far is that it will not work properly with any of my SanDisk flash drives (256 MB or 1 GB), either Mac- or PC-formatted. File transfers stall halfway, locking up the system and requiring a cold restart.
Odd restart issues One MacFixIt reader reports a strange issue where setting the system to sleep manually then waking it up causes a restart instead of a simple wake-up.
The reader writes:
"I discovered an issue on my Intel iMac where every-time I manually set my computer to sleep and then return to wake it, instead of waking up it's re-starts. Upon mouse movement or keyboard press, it reboots instead of waking up. This only occurs when I manually put the computer to sleep and not when it sleeps on its own."
If you are experiencing a similar issue, please let us know.
