Illustrator 9 bugs and problems

A thread in the Adobe User to User Forums documents a growing list of bugs and problems in Illustrator 9. (Thanks, Garry Bradley.) Here are the first two listed items:

Problem: Photoshop 5.5 cannot read AI 9 .AI or .EPS files. Solution: Export as PS5 or TIFF from AI9.

Problem: "Memory error" when trying to reopen an AI9 file previously saved. Solution: The file was saved while the window was minimized--don't do this! To recover, create a new document and place the file which wouldn't open. Layers will be lost.

Update: Dan Smith counters: "I have had no problems thus far, opening either AI 9 .ai files or .eps files in Photoshop 5.5. I've been using both in combination for the last three weeks or so without problems other than the occasional type 23 error on opening Illustrator by double-clicking a AI 9 file. My system specs - G4/450/320 running OS 9.0.4."
