iHome's Nano-size speaker system

iHome has a new very portable speaker system for the iPod Nano.

iHome's Nano-size speakers

iPod Lounge has a short news item today about iHome Audio's upcoming ultraportable speaker system for the iPod Nano, and from its picture, the iMH1B looks a little like the plastic case the Nano ships in--maybe not exactly, but it doesn't appear to be that much bigger.

iHome Audio's Web site says that you can expect "Great stereo sound for yourself or to share with your friends." Though iHome has been putting out some solid iPod speaker systems for relatively affordable prices, "great" may be stretching it, though we'd settle for OK in a speaker this size. But the good news is this little guy will cost only $30 when it shows up sometime this fall.

For whatever it's worth, the speaker has a SRS TruBass setting for "dynamic bass response." It also comes with a plastic shield, which protects the face of your Nano, and a water-resistant carrying case. Unfortunately, the iMH1B isn't comaptible with the new Nanos, but perhaps iHome Audio has a iMH2B in the works? We can only hope.
