iGloves solve the Winter Click Wheel Dilemma
Not too cute, but they probably get the job done.
YES. YES. YES. This is what I have been looking for ever since temperatures started dropping this fall. You see, I'm a firm believer in the benefits of walking around outside as much as possible. If I have time to get there on foot, I'll walk. I take my iPod along for entertainment. And when it's cold, I bundle up. Easy enough, right?
Wrong. When it gets cold, for obvious reasons I wear gloves. But gloved hands can't operate iPod click wheels, so I find that too often I either forsake my beloved walking soundtrack or I get my hands really, really, really cold every time I take a glove off to switch from OK Go to David Bowie. Fortunately, there's a solution now. Outdoor-gear company Marmot has released the iGlove, a $35 solution to cold-weather click wheel woes. The thumb and forefinger on each glove come with tips that the click wheel of an iPod will pick up, thus eliminating the need to remove a glove whenever the volume, playlist, or artist merits adjustment.
So maybe they aren't too cute, and probably don't match my favorite winter coat. But you know what? I'm choosing function over style this time.
