Some transitions cause problems, others do not.

More on transition issues We continue to report on problems with transitions slides in slideshows created by iDVD '08. It now appears that the problem may be specific to certain transition types. Some produce an errant, briefly display green screen, others do not.

One reader writes:

"We had the same problem with a green screen being displayed between slides in a slide show. In our case, the show and DVD were prepared on a 12" G4 Powerbook with 1.25MB RAM. There were about 350 slides in the show. Each had a title, brought in from iPhoto. The transition we chose was Page Flip.

"For about the first hundred slides, the transition behaved fine. Then we got green screens for another 100 or so slides. The page flips came back for a time, and then the green screen re-appeared to the end.

"When we re-did the slide show, without the pageflip transitions - we just had 'Appear' chosen, I think, the show rendered and burned, (a) much quicker and (b) successfully."

Audio not synchronized Meanwhile, we've received reports indicating improperly synchronized audio when using third-party applications that can send output back to iDVD.

MacFixIt reader David writes:

"We have had another iDVD problem, this time with a slide show created in FotoMagico 2.1. Again about 350 slides, with dissolve transitions mostly, and music. TOtal length about 20 minutes. Upon viewing and playing the DVD, the sound was no longer synchronized with the right picture."
