I was Harley in 'Suicide Squad' thanks to VR
Warner Bros. and Samsung Electronics tap virtual reality to immerse you in the set of the highly anticipated DC film.
During the first day of Comic-Con International here in San Diego, Samsung Electronics and Warner Bros. brought a little VR buzz to the upcoming release of "Suicide Squad." CNET got a first look at the experience before the booth at the Hard Rock Hotel opened its doors to eager fans who patiently waited in line to get a virtual sneak peek at the highly anticipated film.
It starts like an intro to a video game, with Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) sending you off on a rescue mission that will end with your death if you dare to fail. After that, you get a bit of the trailer footage and then you jump inside an action sequence with the full Squad fighting all around you. As they do, it feels like you're floating above them.

The sequence ends and David Ayer, the film's director, tells you you'll become Harley Quinn in the same sequence. Yes, you actually get to feel like Margot Robbie. You fight, shoot and reload your gun to accomplish the mission and save your life inside this virtual simulation.
A few technical difficulties arose -- low audio, loud music outside and some freezing of the experience, but it was very cool to feel like part of the cast and experience the action inside a complex fighting sequence.
