Odds and Ends: External iSight cameras not available in Europe through Apple; Knowledge Base updates

External iSight cameras not available in Europe through Apple It appears that European Apple stores (both online and retail) have stopped selling external iSights.

MacFixIt reader Olaf writes:

"iSight cameras are no longer available officially in Europe (and haven't been for over a month now), apparently because some of their components contravene the European Hazardous Materials Act (according to someone at the Apple Store). You can still get them over eBay and import them privately from North America, but Apple no longer sells them."

Sure enough, searches for "iSight" on prominent online European Apple stores reveal no Apple-manufactured devices.
