A big HTC handset, complete with a fingerprint scanner, could be coming to Verizon Wireless, leaked images suggest.

An anonymous, purported Verizon employee over the weekend posted images of what he claims is a flagship HTC handset, known as the One Max, coming to Verizon's network. The poster said the smartphone will feature a large display and come with a fingerprint scanner, similar to the one found in Apple's iPhone 5S. In addition, the One Max's backplate is completely removable.

Rumors have been swirling for the last few months that HTC is planning to launch a new flagship handset called the One Max. In August, leaked press photos hit the Web showing a device that looks like the one in the Android forums.

Neither Verizon nor HTC has confirmed the HTC One Max will be heading to store shelves, so it's important to take the leaked images with a grain of salt. Still, it seems somewhat likely a new HTC handset is on its way.
