HTC China quietly debuts the One E8. HTC China

HTC quietly slipped a new variant of its HTC One M8 flagship phone onto its Chinese website on Thursday. Dubbed the HTC One E8, instead of being made of metal like the M8, it appears to be the fashionable plastic version of the handset rumored as the One Vogue Edition.

With no official press release to be found (yet), HTC China's website only seems to be teasing the device. There are a few details provided, however, including the 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, and HTC BoomSound audio system.

Available in at least four color options, the One E8 also features 13-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 5.0-megapixel selfie-snapper. Unlike the flagship M8, this "One" eschews the dual-lens Duo Camera in favor of a single lens and LED flash. Presumably, HTC has opted for the same 13-megapixel camera found in the recently unveiled HTC One Mini 2 .

Assuming this is the so-called HTC One Vogue Edition, other specifications should include a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, and 16GB or 32GB storage options.

It's unclear whether this phone will find a home outside of the Asian market; we should look for a more formal announcement from HTC in the coming days. Rumors from earlier this week pegged the device with a June 3 debut.
