After an early slip up , HTC and Verizon Wireless officially introduced HTC's latest Android smartphone on Thursday, the Droid Incredible.

The Droid Incredible will hit stores on April 29 for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. It runs Android 2.1 and the latest version of HTC Sense. The latter includes such features as a new Leap screen where you can view thumbnail versions of all seven home screens for easy switching, a FriendStream widget, and group contacts. All should run smoothly given the smartphone's 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

As far as design, the Droid Incredible shares a number of similarities with the HTC Desire, including a 3.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen and an optical joystick. However, they differ in that the shortcut buttons below the display are touch sensitive and the back of the phone features a "topographic" design.

The device is outfitted with the full wireless options--Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, and GPS--and also offers an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for Skype mobile and NFL Mobile.

The Droid Incredible will be available for preorder through Verizon's Web site starting April 19 and will require one of the carrier's smartphone data plans, which start at $29.99 per month for unlimited access, in addition to a talk plan.

We'll work hard to get you a full review as soon as possible, but just out of curiosity, how many of you plan to get one?
