HP All-in-One Printer and Login System Preferences

CNET staff
Bruce Davis could not get his HP D135 All-in-One Printer to work. He found a clue in the Read Me file on the installation CD:

"The HP All-in-One software is known to conflict with some applications that launch at login time (shown by the "Login" panel in the "System Preferences" application). Please contact HP Customer Support for the latest information concerning compatibility issues."

After some experimenting, he found that everything worked just fine if he reorganized the items in the Login System Preferences, so that "HP All-in-One Communications" was the last item in the list. [See also previous related coverage.]
