HP 9.4.1 driver update for 600 series DeskWriters
HP 9.4.1 driver update for 600 series DeskWriters
Hewlett-Packard has released a 9.4.1 update for its 600 series of DeskWriters: "This driver replaces version 9.4. This driver should eliminate the error dialog "The printer is not responding. Make sure that the current port is selected in the Chooser and that the printer is properly connected and turned on. Click Cancel to terminate printing," which occurs when trying to print from a G3 system over a serial connection using the existing driver. The driver supports the following HP printers: HP DeskWriter 600, HP DeskWriter 660C, HP DeskWriter 680C, and HP DeskWriter 694C." (Thanks, Adam Schneider.)
Note: This driver fix does not appear to address the separate previously reported problem with some HP printers not being "seen" over a network in Mac OS 8.1. Disabling the LocalTalkPCI extension works around this bug.
