HP 2200 renaming bug: Firmware update fixes it
Regarding our previous coverage of a renaming problem with HP 2200 series LaserJet printers: Two MacFixIt readers (Ray O'Neill and Craig Rumpel) have received confirmation from HP that it is a firmware problem. Ray was told to expect availability of a firmware upgrade by August. Craig informs us of even better news:
"Yesterday an HP representative called to ask if I was interested in a firmware update to resolve the problem. Today, a ROM DIMM arrived and I installed it into one of the printer's RAM slots as instructed. It worked flawlessly."
