Howard Stern, live on Yahoo
For anyone who's already feeling a little Howard Stern deprived, and can't wait until he reappears on Sirus Satellite Radio next month, Yahoo is keeping up with him moment by moment today, and will keep a "Howard Nation" site up for the next several weeks.
There's a live Webcast of Stern's after-broadcast party on the site. In just a few minutes of watching, it sounds a lot like a very long commercial for Sirius--oh, and also free speech. The most appealing feature may be the blog of a fan who the company has sent to New York for the party, and who is sending dispatches over the course of the day.
Stern is being given $500 million over five years to create two 24/7 channels on Sirius' satellite radio network, a huge bet that most analysts think ultimately will pay for itself in new subscribers and advertising.
